Colours, accessories and accents are remarkable – no really they are!

Do this little exercise :- Set up your home office- just plain with your laptop on a desk/dining table, against a boring single coloured wall and work out of there for 2 days. Then, ruffle things up (P.S- Over the weekend!) Add elements of colour – like a potted plant, a mat, a colourful mouse pad, a beautiful coffee mug with some pens /pencils thrown in, some wallpaper or just paint a motif on the wall yourself- and work out of this new space for the next 2 days --- You will not want to leave this little sanctuary of yours!

Greens add freshness to the room. They symbolise vitality. Plus, scientifically they help you breathe better since they release oxygen. They help you cleanse your lungs and send happy waves to the brain and heart. So, embrace these pots of happiness and include them in your home office set up.

Table lamps easily add that much needed warmth to your work desk. They add versatality, apart from lending light ! Table lamps amp up your space a notch heigher and add that hint of sophistication in your overall décor. Plus, who wouldn’t want to work from a pretty desk !?

Jazz up your wall with some interesting wall décor. You can add a weekly worksheet, a To-Do list, some interesting motivating words/phrases as frames or simply some photographs that are close to your heart. Creating a visually apealing wall not only is liked by the eyes, but also stimulates the grey matter ! So, go ahead and experiment

You can also add some wall paper or even draw yourself or get your kids to do the honors and unleash the artist in them ! P.S- In the lockdown, this will keep them super busy and engaged and give you a much needed breather!

Use the ever versatile space saving shelves to add A LOT of storage ! Use shelves to store knick knacks, files, diaries, books, extra stationery and extremely important in today’s times- the sanitizer ! Plus they are cheap to buy and wont burn a hole in your pocket. There are a plaethora of options available to buy online these days.

Think mugs, tea cup candles, holders, little mirrors, mouse pads, cordies – amything that will lend you a sense of belongingness. Use an old coffee mug gifted to you by a loved one on your desk- throw in some pens in it, this will freshen up your morning and give you a great kick start of the day!
